Keane — Stop for a Minute (featuring K’naan)

So one of the cutest English bands ever decided to put out a new EP entitled Night Train with some great short tracks. The tracks are rather different than those on Perfect Symmetry, reminding me more of some odd fusion of the Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian. This little song featuring my favorite pirat… err Somalian, K’naan, is quite a stunner, beginning with the Rocky intro and jiving it’s way to the line, “they say life makes sense backwards, but only you gotta [sic] live it forwards.” Even though there are corny lyrics spruced throughout this track, it has some intangible that you just don’t find in many contemporary Brit-Pop songs. Just give it a listen and maybe it’ll perk up your Friday morning!
Enjoy!

PS: Random Fact of the Day: I just learned that in reality perfect symmetry doesn’t exist in the Standard Model, which has three inherent symmetries and symmetry breaking. Personally, I think this might be the closest thing to a reformulation of Laplace’s Demon in modern language, but in reality it just gives me more faith in the necessity of a beautiful theory of everything as opposed to a haggard, excruciatingly ugly one.
