The XX — Night Time (What Kind of Breeze Do You Blow? Remix)

        Last night, the Flaming Lips came to Cornell and absolutely blew out Barton Hall. All three of your esteemed bloggers here at CSoTD attended said event, where we saw Wayne Coyne “roll” on the audience in a big plastic ball (as depicted above). Coyne attempted to put on a show that would be second only to the famed Grateful Dead concert of May 1977 and I can say that we probably got damned close. The light shows, the decorations and the incredible number of lasers that were at the concert were amazing.

        And yet I post a What Kind of Breeze Do You Blow? remix of a wonderful The XX today. This isn’t out of disrespect for The Flaming Lips, but simply because this song has quite honestly made my weekend. I listened to this song while going to the concert, while going to Taco Bell after the concert and while spending my life in Stella’s with the Polyakov Action and fans of this blog (eeee!). As my great friend Johnny has said about this remix, it just finds a way to tame the odd time signatures of The XX by speeding up the song in the right places and slowing it down in others. Hopefully you enjoy this song as much as I did.
