Feldberg - Dreamin’

Maybe the 70 degree weather is getting to my head, but on a beautiful skirt day like today I’ve found myself obsessed with a sappy song about the perfect partner. This Icelandic duo seem far too sweet to have a whiny song about how girls are “bitches” and guys are “jerkasses;” instead, they created a song revolving around a (relatively) bucolic notion of love. Moreover, they weave a beautiful story throughout the song, a tale of expected yet non-existent love. While this logic might be troubling to the mathematician inside of me, I couldn’t recall a song that presents this unfortunate fact in such a cute manner. My favorite moment during the role play/story that is told within the song is:

Guy: “Will you be my everything?”

Girl: “I’ll treat you like a real king.”

… (30 seconds later)

Girl: “I just need sometime to think. Will you be my everything?”

This line provides the perfect theme for lackadaisical thoughts mulled over while laying outside on a lazy day. Or of course, you could be doing what Juan and I are doing — studying for a silly quantum test.
