Dosh - Um, Circles and Squares
As Ithaca finds itself blanketed in nature’s finest powdery makeup, we here at Catchy Song of the Day have been trying to keep warm, enjoy the coziness of the indoors and spread a little joy to our legion of followers. It is in this last vein that I present to you Dosh; as it turns out he has an AWESOME real name, which is Martin Luther King Chavez Dosh (well.. at least, according to Wikipedia). Dosh co-wrote a bunch of tracks on Andrew Bird’s 2009 LP, Noble Beast and is currently working on his fifth album, Tommy.
So why is this song a joyous listen? Quite honestly, this song evoked memories of being a little kid in Montessori playing with some curious polytopes, sans the omniscient Background Beethoven. Plus, any song that sounds like it could be a sexual pun from Flatland get an A+ in my book. I hope you’re day will have an extra spring in its step; although, I impart you to not try to dance in the snow while listening to this song. It could lead to … a series of unfortunate events.
