Cassius — Youth, Speed, Trouble, Cigarettes

When I heard that Cassius is putting out a new EP on Ed Banger, my daily intake of pounding electronica suddenly rose in anticipation. If you haven’t heard of Cassius, they are the Yang to Daft Punk’s Yin; they represent the other side of the 1990s French Touch (electronica) scene. Youth Speed Trouble Cigarettes is a quick and dirty tune they released in 2009 to keep their pulsating fanbase salivating. Give this tune a listen but beware: You may suddenly find yourself in your professor’s Porsche (don’t forget the accent on the ‘e’) rampantly smoking Parliaments while going 100mph down a slow country road (*I am sending a glance towards Juan’s new home as I write this*).
