The Hundred in the Hands - “Lovesick (Once Again)”
Sounds like: Nouveau electro-pop meets 60’s pop
From their eponymous debut, which has quite a few good songs on it. You should check out “Young Aren’t Young” and “Killing It”.

Warpaint - “Billie Holiday”

I’ve always wanted to become a Billie Holiday fan. Found a blurb on Warpaint while reading an issue of Harper’s Bazaar today, killing time in a coffee shop in Garden City, KS. This song is from their EP, but they just released their first LP, The Fool, on October 25th.

Murs - Bad Man!

I’m not dead, I’m just in Kansas. I decided I’d better re-emerge from my road-side hiding place or risk losing my coveted place amongst the Catchy Tune Kids. So here’s something from my reserves. Fun fact: MURS created his own name with multiple acronym meanings such as “Making the Universe Recognize and Submit” or “Making Underground Raw Shit”.

Waylayers — Fires

Sounds like: If Coldplay is Milk Chocolate, Waylayers is Dark Chocolate
The Kitsuné Maison Compilation just released it’s tenth edition and boy, does it have some good tracks. There are quite a few great remixes on the album from the likes of the The Twelves and as usual Kitsuné knows how to find talent. Waylayers are a band from London that somehow remind me of Coldplay. They seem like a deeper, darker version of Coldplay, albeit with nicer vocals and a cool pseudo-electronic vibe. If you are looking for an adventurous track that incorporates a lot of elements from pop and electropop in a fantastically cryptic manner, take a listen to these guys — they’ll be sure to tickle your fancy.
Enjoy!

Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina — Stereo Love (Extended Mix)

Pardon me for ignoring this track for so long — such ignorance won’t continue into the future. Maya is an up-and-coming Hungarian House DJ who really represents the introduction and acceptance of House and electronica in the US.
Enjoy

LCD Soundsystem — Daft Punk is Playing at My House (Live, London Sessions)

After LCD’s “trimphant Glastonbury show” (quote from their blog) they decided to buckle down and record a live album in London. Luckily for us, they apparently do some damn good live renditions of their music. I had a hard time deciding between Daft Punk is Playing at My House and Get Innocuous for today’s post, but Daft Punk won because I was bouncing between Daft Punk’s Derezzed and this song for a good hour or two. Regardless of whether you agree with my choice or not, just pay attention to how well LCD replicates their studio album because it blew me away.
Enjoy

PS: Bruce, enjoy this one.
